RELIEF AND REHABILITATION - Programmes and Activities Print E-mail

The Department of Relief & Rehabilitation engages in various programmes and activities that are aimed at mitigating disasters especially during droughts and famine. 

The Department, in liaison with other Ministries and Non-Governmental Organizations distributes relief food every month to districts affected by these harsh conditions. Some of the vulnerable people (beneficiaries) of the relief programme include those affected by drought, famine, floods, fire, HIV/AIDS victims among others.

The information provided below includes relief allocations for the current financial year to the various districts. Please click on a month to get the allocation details.

In addition, the Department of Relief & Rehabilitation contributes relief to the Emergency Operation (EMOP) programme. This programme currently covers 27 districts in the country and distributes relief food to those districts every month. Please click on the links to get more details on EMOP programme.
